What are the benefits of games in the water?

The medium of water allows children with severe physical disabilities to experience and develop a form of movement, perhaps for the first time. For many children (especially those with Angelman syndrome), water is a particularly pleasurable experience. The reduced gravity allows them to initiate and develop movements that they cannot initially perform out of water. The special situation allows new experiences to be made in all areas of perception and new ways of acting to be learned. The Halliwick method and Affolter therapy are used in part.

This is not a swimming training course or a swimming school..

We go to the local swimming pools together. Or we rent small swimming pools that are attached to retirement homes.
